I recently got back from, what seems to have become an annual tradition with myself and a few of my friends, the Jasper area in northern Arkansas. We like to go in the winter because most of the cabins are open (too cold for people to float the buffalo river) and, for anyone who is familiar with Arkansas summers, no humidity.
I only took a couple shots and I do realize this is quite different than the rest of my posts, but this is probably my favorite part of Arkansas (even if we almost hit an elk one night). There’s really no where else like it.
These are gorgeous, Grant! My dad and I would often take a random weekend trip to that area for a picture taking adventure.
I love these. That place is beautiful. That first one makes me scared for those two standing so close to the edge.
Hey man,
Great photos.
I live in Harrison and really enjoy the Jasper area.
I have other friends from around the state that love to shoot near the buffalo. It would be cool to get a bunch of photographers together sometime to hike and take photos. I don’t know, it would be cool to meet photographers from the state and have a good time. I also thought of the idea after seeing your help portrait. Some of my friends and I had a help portrait at our local women’s shelter in Harrison and thought we could link our HP next year some how. Not really sure but thought I would at least touch base
Take care,
Derek
